Zack Hample's Blog
If you just glanced at the season leaderboard on myGameBalls.com, that's not a typo. Zack Hample, ballhawk extraordinaire, has snagged over 200 balls in just over a month. He's been hitting the ballpark just about every day, and last week he took a trip down to Texas where he was able to pad his stats in a big way.
The trip spanned six games and took him to both Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and Minute Maid Park, and by the end he had snagged an astounding 75 balls. His best performances were in Arlington, where he snagged 7, 24, 22, and 6 balls in the four game stretch.
The 24 ball game set a new myGameBalls.com record for Rangers Ballpark, nearly doubling the old record of 13. Blogging about the game, afterwards, Hample pointed out that the BP crowd was so thin that snagging baseballs wasn't even a challenge.
"I snagged so many baseballs at this game, and it was so easy that I?m feeling somewhat ashamed and embarrassed," he wrote. "But you know what? I need days like this to stay sane."
Hample is hoping to hit all 30 stadiums this season, so there's no telling how many balls he'll end up snagging.
