Picking up right where he left off last season, Tim Anderson began his 2012 season last week by snagging a J.J. Hardy home run at Camden Yards.
"Felt nice to get the first one out of the way," he remarked, clearly hoping the snag will be one of many this season.
Ironically, the biggest obstacle to Anderson's snag was his friend who wasn't wearing a glove and clumsily tried to get out of the way. His efforts were so clumsy, in fact, that Anderson eventually had to push him out of the way. "He was cool with it," Anderson points out.
"To make the catch cleanly I had to practically dive forward over the row," he said. "Since my arms were out, I couldn't brace myself, so my thighs landed on the back of the seat. I have a pretty nice bruise on there now."
