Mannywood Makes Late-Season Surge
30-Ball Week Propels Jose Mannywood Up the Leaderboard
by Alan Schuster, September 8, 2009
With less than a month left in the regular season, a lot of the ballhawks on myGameBalls.com seem to be cutting back on their ballhawking a bit. As the summer winds down and kids head back to school, it is understandable that there isn't quite as much time available to make a trip to the ballpark. But while many are winding down their ballhawking season, Los Angeles ballhawk Jose Mannywood is sprinting towards the finish line, making one last push to secure top-notch stats in 2009. With over 30 balls in the first week of September, Mannywood has skyrocketed into 6th place on the leaderboard. Attending 6 straight games of the Dodgers' homestand, Mannywood battled huge crowds at Dodger Stadium to snag at least 4 balls in each game, including a career-high 10 balls on September 4th. Fittingly, during the week he was the recipient of 4 balls dished out by Manny Ramirez himself. Mannywood, known as "Jose Being Manny", has snagged 11 career baseballs from Ramirez. With a few Dodgers' home series still left on the schedule, Mannywood will have more chances to add to that total. A big milestone also appears to be within reach -- 200 baseballs snagged this season. Check out Mannywood's complete collection on his Member Page.
