Engels Brothers Earn Minor League Honors
Twin Brothers Voted Junior Ballhawks of the Year on Minor League WebsiteOfficial Pioneer League balls make up the majority of the Engels brothers' collection.On the Minor League ballhawking circuit, twin brothers Anthony and William Engels are as good as they get. The 15 year-olds from Draper, Utah just completed another outstanding year of ballhawking, and for their efforts they were voted Junior Ballhawk of the Year in the myGameBalls.com Minor League Division.
Ballhawking primarily at Brent Brown Ballpark, home of the Orem Owls, the Engels brothers snagged a total of 148 baseballs in 30 games, an average of 4.93 balls per game. They snagged 19 Game Balls including three game home run balls.
For their career they've snagged 287 balls at Minor League games, divided among 11 different ballparks.
In the final tally of votes, the Engels brothers earned three first place votes and one second place vote for a total of 11 points. Tying for the runner-up spot were Craig Kovach from Dayton, Ohio and Jon Madden from Rochester, New York.
